Allow auto-create of virtual devices
PowerTech recommended setting: Less than 100
Importance: Low
Purpose: Describes the number of virtual devices that the operating system can automatically create as they are requested. These devices are used for virtual session such as SNA Passthru, Client Access (or other third party product) emulation, and TCP/IP Telnet sessions.
Risks and Concerns: Leaving this value at its current setting will allow additional devices to be created on the fly whenever they are requested by a remote system. Once the system is stable in it's number of interactive users, set it to "less than 100" until more virtual devices are needed.
