PowerTech Compliance Assessment is a free, non-intrusive tool*. It will be removed from your AS/400 (System i) automatically after the audit is performed. The software does not change any system settings or populate any libraries. Assessment results are presented in a rich interactive application in a browser. (View a Sample Assessment)

We recommend that you print the following instructions prior to downloading the software (use the Print command from the File menu on the browser). For comprehensive installation instructions and product info, refer to the Quick Start Guide.
__1. Click the 'Download Compliance Assessment' link above. Select 'Save' in the File Download box to save the file to a folder on your PC.
__2. Locate the PTCA20.zip file in the download folder that was specified in the File Download box. Extract the files from the zip file by double-clicking on the file.
__3. A window will open asking for a location to place the files extracted from the package. Type in your preferred location.
__4. Next, open the folder where you unzipped the file. Double-click the PTCASetup2.0.exe (all blue logo) to start the install of the Compliance Assessment application. Then follow the simple installation wizard - the install process completes in less than a minute.
__5. Once the product has finished installing, select the option to launch the application, and the Compliance Assessment main menu will be presented:
__6. From the main menu, select the 'Run a Compliance Assessment' option to present the following screen where you'll specify the system you wish to assess:
__7. The main screen of the report viewer is automatically launched when the Assessment results come back from the System i. The first page is an overall executive summary that rates your system and maps the issues to COBIT standards. Click any of the Category names or page tabs to find the more detailed report information.
* Compliance Assessment is a complimentary tool provided by PowerTech to help raise awareness of the most common security exposures on the System i (AS/400). There is no limit to the number of System i (AS/400) systems that you can assess, and you may view the report data and keep the tool installed on your PC for as long as you want.
Many companies have found the tool to be a valuable component in a regular audit program for System i. However to use the tool to assess the same server on an ongoing basis, you will first need to register with PowerTech and obtain a license key. There is no charge for this key. Simply email your system serial number, processor group, and partition id to: info@ powertech.com. (Use WRKLICINF command at the OS/400 command line to obtain this information.)
